Punta Gorda sits where the Peace River opens into Charlotte Harbor, giving anglers access to a historic Southwest Florida fishing town and a broad mix of estuary water. River flow, tidal creeks, grass flats, and mangrove shorelines all shape the day’s fishing.
The area is especially well suited for snook, redfish, trout, and black drum. Cooler fall and winter water often concentrates redfish, while spring brings improving snook activity along shorelines and points.
